Plagiarism Policy
The Editorial Team of the International Thaqafah Journal acknowledges that any identified cases of plagiarism will not be processed and has established the following policy detailing the specific actions that will be taken when plagiarism is discovered in articles submitted for publication in the International Thaqafah Journal.
Definition: plagiarism is the intentional or unintentional act of obtaining credit or value for scholarly work by citing parts or the entirety of another party's work and/or scholarly work recognized as their own scholarly work, without stating the source accurately and completely.
Therefore: Articles should be original, previously unpublished, and not currently being evaluated for publication elsewhere. Material obtained verbally from other sources should be properly noted so that it can be distinguished from the original text. If plagiarism is exposed, the Chief Editor will review the article and will act based on the level of plagiarism discovered, according to the rules below:
Levels of plagiarism
Plagiarizing several short sentences from another article without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and requested to modify the text as well as cite by providing the reference.
Plagiarizing a substantial portion of another article without proper citation and not citing the source. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in the International Thaqafah Journal and the author may be subjected to a ban from publishing in the International Thaqafah Journal.
Considering that all authors sign the International Thaqafah Journal Publication Ethics Statement Form, all article authors should safeguard the content of the submitted article. If the article is found to be Plagiarizing, all authors will face the same action.
If it is confirmed that the author submits a paper to the International Thaqafah Journal while also submitting it to another journal, and this overlap is discovered during the evaluation process or after publication, action will be taken according to item 2 above. If plagiarism is discovered outside the standards stated above, the editor of the International Thaqafah Journal has the authority to impose [action] and will act according to the policy of the editorial team in the International Thaqafah Journal.
